THE INVESTMENT TEAM
John B. Carew has served as President, Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager of Tandem Investment Advisors, Inc. since he founded the firm in 1990. He developed Tandem’s proprietary investment process called TVM and serves on the investment team charged with oversight and continued development of the TVM process. Mr. Carew is a member of the Investment Committee and the portfolio management team.
Mr. Carew began his career in Washington, DC in 1985 as a financial advisor with Thomson McKinnon Securities, and later with Prudential-Bache Securities. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
C. Allen Ouzts (Allen) has served as Portfolio Manager and member of the Investment Committee of Tandem Investment Advisors, Inc. since he joined the firm in 1997. He serves on the investment team charged with oversight and continued development of Tandem’s proprietary investment process called TVM.
Mr. Ouzts began his career in the investment industry in 1986 with Merrill Lynch in Atlanta, Georgia. Immediately prior to joining Tandem, he worked for The Capital Research Corporation as an individual account manager. In 1999, he moved to Charleston to establish Tandem's South Carolina office. Mr. Ouzts graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics.
William L. Little Jr. (Billy), CFA is a Vice President and has served as Portfolio Manager and member of the Investment Committee of Tandem Investment Advisors, Inc. since he joined the firm in 2006. He serves on the investment team charged with oversight and continued development of Tandem’s proprietary investment process called TVM.
He began his career in the investment industry in 2004 as a financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial in Baltimore, Maryland. One year later, he relocated to Charleston, South Carolina and worked as an associate financial advisor with McGuire, Tapscott, Hyden and Associates, an independent branch of Ameriprise Financial. Mr. Little graduated from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. He is a regular member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of South Carolina, where he currently serves on the Board of Directors.
